Radiation Protection for users of X-ray Analysis
Course Objective
This course aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and understanding to ensure both their own safety and the safety of their staff members while working with or supervising the usage of X-ray analysis equipment. Typical sectors that utilise X-ray analysis equipment:Mining and geochemistry;
Trace analysis;
Non-destructive testing;
Biomedical research;
Manufacturing of cement, additives, pigments, coatings and Electronics;
Metallurgy.

Course Structure
The program has been structured as an independent set of modules with no prerequisites. Following an introduction to various aspects of radiation, the course progresses through principles and safe practices related to management and use of X-ray analysis devices. The course is suitable for persons having no previous experience or for those requiring refresher. This course is aligned with the Code of Practice for the Safe Use of X-ray Analysis Equipment.Course Content

Assessment
There are multiple practical exercises and competency tests that will be assigned to attendees throughout the day.
Certification
The participant who successfully passes the course will be granted a certificate of attainment which can be used as a proof of training or for licence application purposes.
